Roller Shades, Cell Shades, Roman Shades, Woven Woods & Panel Tracks.
Remember the crispy white shades on springs that your great-grandma used to have behind her homemade curtains? Well these ain't them! Today's roller shades have about as much in common with those old shades as an iPhone has with Mr. Bell's first model.
Oh, sure, they cover the window and roll up and down, but that's pretty much where the similarity ends. Roller shades are available in a variety of fabrics, from simple-solar blocking sunscreen mesh (great for commercial use) to beautiful designer fabrics. Matched with one of a number of terrific molded wood or fabric covered metal valances, our roller shades make a home decor statement. Whether your decor is modern-minimalist or more traditional, whether you want a solid black-out shade or a shade with a bit of view-thru, there is a roller shade for you. Affordable and easy to care for, there is a place in almost every home for a roller shade or two.
Two different names for one great product. Cell shades are frequently advertised with an emphasis on their insulation properties. In our opinion that's not the best that these versatile shades have to offer. Consider this; Cell shades come in a WIDE variety of colors and fabrics, most of which are translucent, causing the natural light filtering through the shades to have a nice tint - which really helps to set the mood of a room. No lighting is as romantic and relaxing as natural light filtered through a delicately colored shade. Don't want to allow light to filter in? No problem. Cell shades also come in "Room Darkening" or "Blackout" versions.
Cell shades also feature a variety of options far and beyond most other window coverings:
* Lower the shade from Top down or from the Bottom Up.
* Lift the shade with a single finger.
* Combine two shades in one - Blackout for sleepy time and Translucent for a romantic glow the rest of the day.
* Put the shade in an arch for a striking sunburst look.
* Turn a cell shade sideways to cover a sliding glass door with an incredibly low-profile accordion type door.
Once considered a bit old fashioned, Roman Shades are back with a vengeance! Beautiful, rich, downright OPULENT fabrics are one of the biggest appeals of roman shades. Believe me, a formal room with roman shades in a silky, luxurious fabric with a metallic copper sheen is a sight to behold. That's what one of our customer's chose and the end result was truly breathtaking.
Of course, if "simple" is your preference, there are roman shades for you too. With fabrics ranging from basic linens to stunning silks, we can show you roman shades to satisfy every taste.
Grasses, bamboo, reeds, Bali, Tahiti, Fiji. Exciting and EXOTIC. These are just a few words that come to mind when thinking of woven woods. Made of natural elements, woven woods bring the outdoors inside like no other window coverings. Equally at home in a dining room with bamboo floors, a bedroom with a safari or Asian theme or a modern home with a focus on "green" products, woven woods are all the rage these days.
Woven woods are available in a WIDE range of patterns, materials and colors. Style wise, woven woods are most often presented in a "roman shade" type application; lifting from the bottom and stacking in layers behind a hanging valance.
Traditionally, privacy control has been limited in woven woods - your only option was how tight a weave you chose when making your original purchase. Recently, however, there have been a few upgrades to the woven wood shade. One hot new item is the Woven Wood Twin Shade, which features a secondary fabric shade staged behind the woven wood so that you have the choice of total privacy with the fabric shade down or a more open, natural look with only the woven wood in the lowered position. We've examined the Twin Shades produced by several vendors and have identified the best on the market for our customers.
Another cool new item is Woven Wood Folding Doors. Picture an accordion style door, made entirely of woven natural elements, covering your sliding glass door. This is an eye-catching new alternative to those same old Vertical Blinds.
How about woven woods as drapes? We can also offer certain woven wood patterns in the style of grommet-top drape panels. Truly modern, unusual and stunning, woven wood drapes will definitely cement your reputation as "fashion-forward."
Vertical blinds meet minimalism. Panel tracks are a relatively new solution to the old problem of covering a sliding glass door without using vertical blinds. Picture 18" to 30" panels of fabric, weighted at the bottom, hanging in a flat plane in front of your slider. Most often controlled with a wand, the panels nest to one side in a stack. Simple and elegant, a panel track system can definitely dress up a slider.
For the more adventurous, panel track systems can be used to cover an entire wall of windows or even ceiling mounted in a free-hanging "middle of the room" application to create a sleek, modern room divider. Their only limit is your imagination. We even had one customer hang them from wall-to-wall across an entire bedroom in order to create an 11 foot wide closet behind them.
